Country Hotel Charm in the Heart of the Lake District
At Craig Manor Hotel, Bowness on Windermere, you’ll discover one of the Lake District’s classic country house retreats.
Its original occupant was Sir Thomas Paisley – a Royal Navy Admiral who was so entranced by the views over Lake Windermere that he chose this spot to build his retirement home. That was back in 1848. Over the years, the building has been expanded and carefully restored to create a comfortable, tranquil hotel which retains the charm and character of the original house.
