Booking Terms & Conditions
In order to confirm your reservation at Craig Manor we require a deposit at the time of booking. Unless otherwise stated, the deposit amount will be £60. This deposit is fully refundable if cancellation is made within the terms of our cancellation policy.
On arrival at the hotel, guests will be required to provide a credit card for pre-authorisation of funds. This will be equivalent to the total accommodation plus an amount for any incidentals you may wish to add to your account during your stay. The pre-authorisation is not a charge and no funds will be debited from your account until departure. Where a guest does not wish to provide a credit card pre-authorisation then a full cash deposit will be required on arrival. For further details about pre-authorisations please ask at reception or call the hotel prior to arrival.
Where advanced payment is specified at the time of booking, full payment will be taken at this time. Where adcanced payment applies this deposit is non-transferable and non-refundable.
- Cancellations made before the time detailed below in our cancellation period — No charge
- Cancellations made after the time detailed below in our cancellation period — Charged at total value of reservation
- No-show - in the event that you do not arrive for your booking - Charged at total value of reservation
We strongly recommend that all guests take out travel insurance to cover them for any unforseen circumstances that may result in a late cancellation of their reservation.
The hotels standard cancellation period is 48 hours before arrival and is calculated from our check in time of 3 pm. The standard cancellation period applies to all bookings except those detailed below in the extended cancellation period. Any cancellations made less than 48 hours before arrival will incur a charge for the total reservation.
Our extended cancellation period policy applies to bookings which include any of the following dates and\or packages\events
- Bank holidays
- Public Holidays
- Valentines Day and Valentines Packages
- Murder Mystery Packages & Bridge Events
- Bookings including dates between 24th December and 2nd January
The hotels extended cancellation period for these bookings is 1 week before arrival and is calculated from our check in time of 3 pm. Any cancellations made less than 1 week before arrival will incur a charge for the total reservation.
Offers and Specials.
Seasonal Offers - Terms and Conditions
All offers and promotions at Craig Manor are subject to availability and may be withdrawn or changed at any time. A two night minimum stay is required for all offers. Rates for these offers may change in line with our normal rates. Confirmed bookings will not be withdrawn or changed. Offers are only available for stay dates between Sunday and Thursday but may occasionally be offered at weekends. Offers will not be available during public holidays. Normal deposit and cancellations policies apply. Upgrades that are part of these offers are subject to availability at the time of booking. If an upgrade is not available at the time of booking customers will be notified within 48 hours of the time the booking was confirmed. Where any inclusive item is unavailable a suitable alternative will be made. These offers cannot be exchanged or applied to existing bookings. Where bottles of Bubbly are inclusive items, guests will be offered Prosecco or an alternative Sparkling wine if this is not available. Bookings made through Travelzoo are pre-payment advanced bookings. Full payment will be taken at the time of booking and this deposit is strictly non-refundable and non-transferable.
Please add any special requests when making your reservation online or alternatively contact our reservation team. We will endeavour to accommodate any special requests you may have, but cannot guarantee requests at the booking stage. If you require confirmation of any special request please contact our reservation team.
Please note that when optional extras e.g. Champagne and flowers in room, are added to your booking, we cannot guarantee availability when ordered within 48 hours of arrival. Where we are unable to provide the little extras you have requested we will do our best to contact you before arrival.
We welcome quiet, well behaved pets. Pets are to be properly controlled at all times whilst on hotel property and your pet must NOT be left unattended at any time. Pets are allowed in reception and your room only, they are not allowed in the public lounges, bar or restaurant. Pets can only be accepted by prior arrangement, please contact a member of our reservations team or indicate in the 'Additional Requirements' box on our online booking system.
Pets are charged at £8.00 per pet per night.
We have ample free parking for our guests vehicles.
All vehicles are parked at the owners’ risk. Should a problem occur with a vehicle in the hotel car park, the hotel cannot accept any liability.
The following items can all be arranged prior to your stay, but we respectfully request, that in order to confirm availability, you give us as much notice as possible - at least 24 hours
- Cots - £8 per night
- Bicycle storage - complimentary
- Childrens highchairs - complimentary in our restaurant
Subscribers to our hotel mailing list will be sent regular updates about our latest offers and events. These updates will include information for both Craig Manor Hotel in Bowness on Windermere, and our sister hotel, The Daffodil Hotel, located in Grasmere.
Subscribers may un-subscribe at any time by sending an email with un-subscribe in the subject line. Alternatively please use the unsubscribe option which is can be found within any email you are sent as a subscriber.
We will not sell, trade or exchange your email address with any other companies or individuals.
A deposit of £100.00 per room will be taken following confirmation of a booking on any of our murder mystery or bridge events. These events are subject to our Extended Cancellation Period.
Please be aware that these events will only run if sufficient guest numbers are achieved. If in the unlikely event that we do not achieve sufficient guest numbers, the event will be cancelled. If we cancel the event
- you will be notified at least four weeks before your scheduled arrival time
- you will be offered a special reduced rate at the hotel for the same dates
- you may cancel your booking and receive a full refund of any deposits paid
Damage to hotel property
We reserve the right to charge guests the cost of rectifying damage, caused by the deliberate, negligent or reckless act of the guest to the hotel’s property or structure. Should this damage come to light after the guest has departed, we reserve the right to make a charge to the guest’s credit / debit card, or send an invoice for the amount to the registered address.
We will make every effort to rectify any damage ourselves prior to contracting specialists to make any repairs. We will endeavour to keep any costs to a minimum thereby mitigating any costs that you would be laible for.
Smoking in guest rooms is considered as damage to hotel property and costs for cleaning and loss of revenue may be applied.
