How To Get To Bowness-On-Windermere
Plan Your Escape
If travelling by train, you can catch the West Coast Main Line to Oxenholme, before changing for Windermere (unfortunately Bowness itself doesn’t have its own train station, although it’s only a short taxi ride or walk away).
If driving, the average journey time from London and the South East is generally around five hours, while journeys from the Manchester area will take about one and a half hours, while those from Yorkshire are closer to two hours.
If you do drive, you’ll need to take Junction 36 of the M6 and follow the A591 from the South or take Junction 39 followed by the A6 and then A591 from Scotland.
