Our Signature Cocktail
Experience HMS Curacau 1831
HMS Curacau is Rum Nickys signature cocktail. It is a tribute to the original Builder of Craig Manor, Admiral Sir Thomas Pasley. Thomas gained his first ‘command’ on HMS Curacau in 1831 while serving in the Caribbean. With Barcardi rum, blue curacao and vodka…we hope that Thomas would approve.

History of the Rum Nicky
A Kitchen With a Story
1700
Rum Nicky Kitchen’s history is steeped in the rich trading past of Northwest England. In the 17th and 18th centuries, ports like Lancaster and Whitehaven became crucial in the triangular trade.
1750
Whitehaven was the third-largest port in England from 1750 to 1800. This trade brought in ginger, dried tropical fruits, sugar, and rum, leading to unique local dishes that incorporated these ingredients.
1800
Rum Nicky is said to have been created at the high-water mark of this trading era in the 1800s. The unique combination of ingredients and the design on the individual pies likely led to the dish’s distinctive name.
