Situated just a little further down the road from The World of Beatrix Potter attraction, it’s another viable option for families looking to fuel up before diving into the wonderful world of Peter Rabbit and friends.
Well-known for generous portion sizes, you can be sure you’ll be adequately fed and watered before a long day of exploring the area. From full english breakfasts to omelettes and even bacon and sausage sandwiches for those who don’t want to indulge in a big breakfast, there’s a meal for everyone.
The Magic Roundabout serves food all day until 10pm, so there’s plenty of opportunity to sample their menu.

As you can tell, there are plenty of cafes to choose from in the area, but another little place that we’d definitely recommend you consider is the Folk Cafe, which has a huge focus on using locally sourced products and specialise in craft coffee and tea with an array of delicious home-baked goods.
Situated closer to the lake than the previous two, it’s a great starting point for those looking to explore Lake Windermere and want to fuel up for the day.
Although many may argue that the menu is a little more limited than the others, the quality of the food is incredible. From the fabled breakfast sandwich which appears to be one of the breakfast best sellers which comprises of a three tier sourdough sandwich with an egg in the middle alongside crispy bacon, it’s definitely one to try while in the area.
The location of Folk Cafe is a little off the beaten track and away from the hustle and bustle of the direct centre, meaning it is usually quieter and provides the perfect rest spot for those looking to slip away from the crowds for a little while.

If you’re looking for a quick bite to eat rather than a full meal, a stop off at Graze will definitely satisfy your hunger without being too much.
A coffee shop which specialises in homemade food and focuses on delicious vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options (but does also offer meat options), it’s the perfect stop off on your journey around Bowness-on-Windermere and is perfectly situated in the heart of the town, near the World of Beatrix Potter attraction.
As it is so central, it can get quite busy during peak months, but it is definitely worth the wait.

If you don’t mind travelling out of Bowness-on-Windermere and head a little further north to Windermere itself and you love seafood dishes, Hooked is a great choice for fish lovers.
Delivering a menu with a fresh seafood focus which can change from day to day depending on the catch, you won’t be disappointed at how fresh these dishes really are. From lobster and hake to the more exquisite swordfish, there’s plenty of freshly caught fish to choose from.
It is important to note that this is a fish restaurant, so you won’t find any other meat dishes on the menu other than fish, but that doesn’t stop the portion sizes being more than generous for the price.
